Announcing the major initiative here on Monday, Department of Defense officials said e-Health Assistance and Teleconsultation Services (SeHAT) is the ministry’s tri-service teleconsultation service designed for all entitled personnel and their

families.

As part of the government’s commitment to digital India and e-governance, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh launched SeHAT on May 27, 2021. It is an example of innovation, especially at a time when the nation fight against COVID-19.

SeHAT stay home OPD is a patient-doctor system where the patient can consult a doctor remotely via the Internet using their smartphone, laptop, desktop or tablet.

The consultation is done by video, audio and chat at the same time. It aims to provide quality healthcare services to patients in the comfort of their homes. Secure and structured clinical consultations by video between a doctor in a hospital and a patient within the limits of his home anywhere in the country, have been

activated.

It is designed to be extremely simple and easy to use, requiring minimal effort from users. The user does not have to pay anything to request a teleconsultation and can simply access the services by visiting https://sehatopd.gov.in, or using the SeHAT apps available on Play Store and App Stores.

Since its launch, there have been over 10,000 successful teleconsultations on SeHAT, with a strong team of over 2,000 doctors on board. Feedback from the environment has been extremely heartening.

In addition, by bringing healthcare delivery right to the patient’s doorstep, Defense Secretary Ajay Kumar has taken the new initiative to provide home delivery or self-pickup of medicines to patients seeking consultation on SeHAT .

People wishing to have their home delivered by self-pickup can indicate their preference when they are connected. To start with, this home delivery project will be launched with Base Hospital Delhi Cantonment from Tuesday and will be expanded to more and more stations in the coming years. time.
